I am writing about,
that if I open the page/link "my computers" then the (here 6) computers are shown in order of "Last contact", where the latest updated computer is first.
And so all computer running 24/7 should be first in the list, with just an diff of LESS than an hour.
Computer, off in the night, will have a last contact of more than 8 hours next morning, ok.

But that isn't with the 24/7: even I am sure 3 are/was running until yesterday, most in the morning 2 of them are not updated to be available for more than 4 hours, even the manager is open, and open at Projects page.

For my understanding there is something wrong - as ready for work computer should never be reported with a last contact as more than an hour.

So now the working computer has last contact at 6:47, but the 24/7 game server is now shown with 4:20, but that should be not more than an hour behind, mean I might think that should be 6:20 as it is running also, and open boinc manager.

The 1 hour delay is a project matter.

But there's also a BOINC backoff - each time a computer contacts the server and doesn't get work, there will be a longer and longer delay before it asks again.
This can get up into the hours of delay.

I think that this is to prevent the servers getting overloaded when there's little or no work.

I think that ...
Please make sure that you get the knowledge about this,
as following is wrong then:
* a 24/7 computer, that highly might also be 24/7 work out an Task, is getting low ranked as more and more time over 1 hour "old" (ready to work)
* but most often restarted computer, that might also often be OFF, get better ranking, as most time after restart they have just 1 hour diff to last report, and are better ranked.

Result: Tasks are going to the wrong computers, and take much longer than needed.

Also: Maybe there should be a also rank memory about how fast a computer did a task (needed real time against calculation time) to focus more on fast and 24/7 running computer.

AS then they (sientist) get back faster complete result, and also might be able to prepare also faster a new set, as they see, its worth to use boinc ... as the climate change is real, is fast and we loose time. We cant stop it anymore, but we need to prepare for it with this calculations.

and again Facts:
2 computer run 24/7 last day
* ID: 1487884 show 5.8. 19:49
* ID: 1487908 show 5.8. 11.37
* ID: 1489649 offline since 8:39, so no update
but now is 22.18 UTC (5:18 local), and only after pressing update at Project Tab, brought up new time at both.

I can confirm that this is due to BOINC itself rather than the project.

If you want that to change, it means getting the source code, looking for the relevant bits and modifying them. (Something beyond my skill level. Even just getting an unmodified BOINC7.15.0 to get past the make command was something I found taxing. First success at doing it was yesterday evening.)

Or you can suggest it over on the BOINC boards and see if any of the developers want to look at it.
