My climate prediction data will not upload. This is not a problem with other BOINC projects I am running. The last contact it shows with my computer is on 4 May. While there is an explanation why I could not upload on 10 or 11 May (a tornado hit my town and damaged my home and the electrical grid), that doesn't explain why I cannot upload data before or since then. The server status shows as "up" but it doesn't seem to be accepting my data. |

See the, "what happened" thread in number crunching. Ongoing server problems. Don't know when there will be an update on this. |

Thank you for replying, though it took me some time to track down the thread you suggested. Regrettably, it was of no help to me (or many other people on that thread). As such, since there is no resolution to this problem in the foreseeable future, I have suspended crunching data for the climate prediction project and am working on projects that are accepting data. There is not much point working on a project which simply sits. |

Zips from my five remaining tasks are still uploading. However, tasks I think won't report on finishing till this is resolved. Once they have all finished, I will if things still running off slave database rename the data directory for boinc, then attach to the project using the ithaqua address on the off chance that there may be work available before the problems with Oxford IT are sorted. I note that there is a suggestion on that thread that the size of the database (Several TB I understand) may be the cause of the instability of the system. |

I note that there is a suggestion on that thread that the size of the database (Several TB I understand) may be the cause of the instability of the system. Do you know what is stored there? Perhaps it is copies of all the results, but I would think that is sent to the experimenters via the zips. Maybe this would be a good time to trim out the redundancies, but I know nothing of their operations. (But several TB is not much these days for large disk drives in a RAID array.) |
