Also, if you look at your list of computers, then look at the tasks for the oldest one, and look at the oldest task, you'll see that it wasn't validated either, and that was in 2010. My oldest one is from 2011, and isn't validated. Here And the same applies to everyone else's. |

It seems new WUs are in the hopper. I wonder if any is downloading them successfully? As indicated on another thread, currently some people experience download problems with both old and new WUs, so refraining from download until fixed might be the proper option. |

Yes, unrelated, thought I had deleted that line after copy and paste but clearly not. Two tasks now downloaded successfully now however. Nothing on my one machine running linux however. |

The applications page on the old Web site, which I only infrequently used, turns out to be useful after all - as it said which applications were available for which platforms. The WUS25 models in the new batch are application version 8.24 on Windows: I don't know whether that's available on Linux. (Not Mac, I tried.) |

They seem to be all gone as my WIN machine says no tasks available, though the server status page shows there are some. Or were as there seems to be quite a delay between what is visible on the page and the hopper. |

Four downloaded OK after an initial hiccup. |

I don't know whether that's available on Linux. (Not Mac, I tried.) Clearly not as that machine told me there were not tasks available for it. Perhaps I need to add wine to that one as well |

I see that there is a new batch of hadam3p_eu tasks in the hopper. Hopefully it is a big batch. They are the 3 month version so each one doesn’t last long. |

It is difficult to see when there are (new) tasks available as the server status page does not refresh on demand as before, hence no real time data is available. Additionally it might be also good platform information to be accommodated under each application on the server status page so once tasks are available users can easily identify whether their computers can crunch them. |

Thanks Les, As I was not sure whether this got into the long and complicated e-mail I've list it here. So Christmas presents we are expecting :) |

On a positive front, all 8 of my cores across 3 computers are now crunching albeit pretending to be windows machines rather than native linux and the two I picked up overnight are both on their last chance. |

I see the offset of 322 on the tasks ready to send has gone. Also got 4 new tasks today but hopper was empty by the time I saw this and tried to get some on another box. |

My computers are getting kind of hungry. What we need is some new BIG batches of work. Anything in the beta testing that looks promising? |

Hi Jim These days there's not much info about when new work will arrive. When it does, I think that it catches most of us by surprise. |

When it does, I think that it catches most of us by surprise. Yes indeed, since the new server status page does not show real time data micromanagement of tasks is not possible (for good or not). Nowadays I can't catch anything. What is funny though that there are thousands of tasks in progress for many months to come. I guess the question for shorter deadlines becomes relevant again. |

I guess the question for shorter deadlines becomes relevant again. I have always wondered how many of those “tasks in progress” (presently 91260) are in reality abandoned or lost in a way the server never found out about. Eleven month deadlines do tend to lead to a large buildup of tasks that are never going to be finished. Maybe the project needs to fix it so any task that has not trickled in the last 90 days (or maybe even 60 days) is declared abandoned and reissued. |

The deadline length doesn't reflect CPDN's timescale for using the results but is intended, as I understand it, to prevent CPDN hogging the processing for users who are members of multiple projects - given that CPDN models are relatively long. |
