I didn't encounter this when I added LHC to some of my hosts.

> I have just under 60% completed on my 2 units that I am processing on my
> P4-HT. It would have been another fortnight before the units are completed -
> longer now that I attached to LHC.

I assume this is the 4.05 client, I've heard the 4.09 has solved this "eager to download WU" problem. I see that SETI has made it official so I'll probably point the CPDN/BOINC download page to there:

> Howdy:

>
> However, I just attached to LHC and CPDN downloaded another work unit before
> LHC downloaded any.
>
> It seems rather pre-mature to download any work this far before completion.
>
> Is this normal?

>
>

I was having the problem a few releases back where Boinc would download workunits even though I had more than required to meet my cache limits (many times even above the max limit)

what I found was that sometimes when a scheduler request was sent to a project and that contact failed, Boinc would generate a request for 1 second of work to other non contacted projects and this would trigger a download of another workunit.

haven't had this happen for quite a while - since moving to major version 4 I believe.

regards
Z

I believe you are correct, Carl.

I upgraded to 4.09 before attaching to LHC and did not experience the "eager" WU problem.
