Tricky. If you feel that there will be no interruption whatsoever to the running of the model, go for it. But nothing wrong with aborting. You'll get credits for what you've done so far. Suggestion: If there's trickles pending, Suspend the model, upload the trickles, and THEN Abort it. |

I run Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 on my current machine (64-bit), but I had to install the compatability libraries for it. I used to run Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on my older machine (32-bit with two Xeon processors and 8GBytes RAM). I am not pushing Red Hat Enterprise Linux, though I like it. It costs money, and for most users, it is like delivering parcels with a fire truck. It is not the one I would recommend to anyone to start with. My suggestion will be a bit different from the others. Check with your local computer club and see what distribution most of the people are using, and use that. That way there will be a lot of people near you who can give you hands-on experience and help until you get up to speed doing it for yourself. |
