I notice that this page appears to be down. Also that looking at it over recent days, despite there being plenty of tasks available, the number of tasks in progress seems to be going down.

Is this related to people being unable to attach to the project or possible those with slow computers like my netbook who are only accepting regional models?

There's problems at Oxford that may take a while to fix.

It is showing as a blank page on my end. Using IE 10, does the same in compatibility mode or not. I will try it again later.

I have been seeing (or not seeing) the same blank screen since last night when I tried to check server status. I am using chrome, so most likely its the page and not your browzer.

I repeat: There's a problem at Oxford.
A specialist is due on Tuesday. Hopefully he'll have a big hammer, and will be able to knock some sense into the 2-3 servers that have a problem the hard way.

Well it came back. All the upload servers are showing red now, guess that's what the specialist is for. The fact that its showing the page now is progress :-)

As far as I can tell right now -
Down are - server status page - updates to trickles on the "My Account" page - updates to credit.

Most uploads are working

Download to new machine (attached with "boinc -- etc" on Windows ) working.
New wu download for attached machines working.

Like Les says (and I (almost -- in the strict maths sense) always believe what Les says) --

Maybe Tuesday -- no hamburger today.

Patience is a virtue -- thanks.

Just to be completely explicit about things, and cross all the 'i's and dot all the 't's...no, wait, that's dot all the 'i's and cross all the 't's:-

The specialist who is coming on Tuesday will know that he or she has to fix the problem with trickles not being recorded, as well as the problem with the server status page not showing ... right?

It's just that I haven't seen any mention of the no-trickle problem anywhere on the board yet. So I thought I'd better mention it. Just in case the project team was unaware of it.

Trickle_ups are working for me.

Sorry for being unclear --

Trickle-ups work for me too.
What I meant -- was that the trickles don't show on the my account > computers > tasks -- page.
Trickles are uploading fine - it's the display page that seems to be the problem

The only problems I see from here are related to the display pages.
The basic services - like downloads, uploads, trickles - are working just fine as far as I can see.

The server status page now has an 'HTML' extension. Did it used to have a 'PHP' extension?

I've been getting a blank page with an HTML extension for a while, but changing the extension to PHP then produced a populated, if rather discouraging, page. Thereafter the page continues to be populated, but has an HTML extension. Baffled. But at least I now see why some people are reporting servers down.

[Edit: Clear cache to get blank page again but PHP trick doesn't work. Baffled++.]

[Edit #2: The PHP GET mostly results in an HTTP 304 'redirect' to the HTML page, which is then usually an HTTP 304 'unchanged'. By fiddling with the request it's sometimes possible to produce a valid page. Perhaps it's if a server-side update occurs. Whose cache is it anyway? Something's not right ...]

I've had that page as my browser home page for years, and it shows as html.

Getting a blank page.

For completeness, my netbook is reporting transient http error when trying to upload the zip files with a pnw task. It is the third zip file so not a problem this end.

The expert is looking at the server which hosts the VMs which run all these background tasks.

Thanks, Les. I was puzzled by why that page, which seems 'computed', was HTML rather than PHP: I was evidently clutching at straws!

Server for pnw zips seems to be back up and running. Credit updated but server Status page has gone blank again. Don't know about attaching new computers as not had one to play with recently.
