Why does it seem like the climate project always has problems? Any status on why i can't upload my results? |

Hi Uptown and welcome to the forum. You have had so many zip files stuck in your Boinc manager Transfers tab because a) you have a splendid computer which processes a lot of climate models simultaneously and fast, producing lots of files for upload and b) the FAMOUS model type generates a large number of files and c) upload server kraken which is the one that FAMOUS files upload to crashed yesterday. It had to be restarted manually this morning. Your stuck files should by now have been able to upload. I've posted a server update summary in the News thread which is at the top of this Number Crunching section. The post should explain a few other things too. It's worth subscribing to that thread to receive email notification of new posts because that's where we try to announce everything we think members need to know. CPDN's server record of % uptime is actually not bad at all compared with most other Boinc projects, taking into account the fact that the database is enormous because we generate so much model data. And also considering that the research team hasn't got unlimited money available for new hardware. If you still have a problem uploading those files please let us know. Cpdn news |

Still not uploading .zip files from the FAMOUS-apps, even the upload server kraken is runing :-( (info from the server status page) will suspending climatepredition project in the BOINC Mgr stop the try of upload those .zip files? greetz littleBouncer

Suspending the project won't affect the upload of the files in the Transfers tab. If you want to stop unsuccessful attempts to upload the files you need to stop network activity in the Boinc manager Activity menu. Of course, this stops uploads for all projects, not only CPDN. So you can suspend the project or suspend your current tasks with no effect on uploads. But if you do these things you will receive no new model downloads. Have your FAMOUS files still not uploaded? The kraken server must be quite old. CPDN has a new upload server which will be installed soon to replace kraken. Cpdn news |
