Since 13 Nov. 2010 I am a member of CPDN, and it is a great project.
Everything works fine, also the graphics in the Boinc manager, and the crunching.
But I have one question, when a task is completed then there is no graphic visible.
Whatever I try with default, grey, grid, blue, green and other possibilities the background stays grey.!!
Only when I move the mouse over the background I see numbers, like "temperatures" and "wind", and the numbers and so on.
But no graphic or lines.!!
I searched in the forum, but I could not find an answer.
Does someone knows the solution.?

16 Processors (4 Quadcores AMD Opteron 8384).
64 Gb. Ram.
Windows Server 2008 SP2. 64 Bit.
ATI Radeon 4870 X2.
Boinc 6.10.58.

If you use Internet Explorer then try this (in English - sorry):

1. Make sure the menu bar is displayed (File, Edit etc.).

2. Select Tools | Developer Tools. This will bring up a window showing the HTML for the page in question.

3. Select the last menu item: Document Mode.

4. Select 'Quirks Mode' and close the Developer Tools window.

Does the graph appear?

Thanks for your answer Ian, but the graph does not appear.!
I tried different combinations but still nothing happens.
What now.? (I like graphics)
Is it possible that it is my anti virus program, I use AVG 10.0.170 (the latest)

I downloaded Mozilla, and it works, now I can see the graphs.!!
Thank you very much cwhyl for your help.!!

I think I will have a rac of about 8000 - 9500.
Somewhere between place 20-25 of topcomputers (Not bad for a AMD computer, I would say.!)

Hi Gerard

Here's your AMD in the list of top CPDN computers. And here is the page with the top 20.

All the top 20 are Mac and all are Intel which is what Mac uses. What should we conclude from these top computer pages? That Mac/Darwin is faster than Windows and Linux? That Intel is faster than AMD?

My conclusion is different. All these Macs must be running FAMOUS because at the moment this is the only model type available for Mac (and Linux). The FAMOUS compilation for Mac runs much faster than the Windows and Linux compilations. So at the moment the list of top CPDN computers must almost necessarily be full of Macs and therefore also full of Intel. Not because Mac and Intel are better but because of the FAMOUS compilations.

The faster FAMOUS compilation for Mac isn't really better. A higher proportion of FAMOUS crash on Mac than on Windows and Linux.

Hi mo.v

Thanks for the explanation, now a lot of things are clear to me.!
Let's hope there will be a faster FAMOUS compilation for Windows and Linux in the future (with less crashes then on Darwin)
It is nice to have a fast computer, but i am not really a "creditman", the prediction of the future climate is much more important.!!
I have been with Seti for almost 2 years (24/7), also a good project , but the members cann't see the results of their effort.(only crunching, and hoping for a signal)
With CPDN there are a lot of results to look at for the members.
And I also think that it contribute more for the science.
