2 Questions. I\'ve been running the standard CP for awhile. Recently I started BOINC. I can\'t see how to run Boinc visualizations as in the standard model. Can I run both programs, standard and Boinc? P.S. I\'m not a computer guru.

I'm not a user of the original CPDN, but I think I understand what you're asking (not positive though).

To see the graphic display of what the model is doing, just right-click the WU from the 'Work' tab and choose 'Show Graphics'.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi sthoemmes,

Following the links for your account I see you've got a hyper-threaded P4 (which gives you 2 virtual processors) and are currently running 2 BOINC models.

It's certainly possible to continue running BOINC and classic together, but have a look at this thread first.

If you decide that you just want to complete your current classic run just leave thing as they are with BOINC and set your classic account to inactive on this page to prevent download of another model when you complete the current one.

If you want to leave the classic program running permanently you should go to this page. You need to set Leave applications in memory while preempted? to yes and reduce On multiprocessors, use at most to 1. This should cause one of your BOINC models to go into the pre-empted state the next time you trickle (it will probably switch between the models every hour until you've completed one of them and only run a single model from then on). That will allow classic CPDN to run on one of your virtual processors and BOINC CPDN on the other.

If you need any more info don't hesitate to ask ;)
