Hello Deborah

Thank you for taking action and getting in touch with us so quickly. I'll ask Andy and/or Jonathan who are CPDN's programmers to enable your computer's daily quota again. One of them will, I expect, do this tomorrow morning.

As you have three machines all with Darwin you'll need to reset CPDN or detach then reattach to CPDN on all of them.

Probably what is described here in the sticky post at the top of the Macintosh section of this board.

Hi Diggy

Unfortunately your computer(s) are hidden so only you can see them, not us. But if, as Les says, the problem is as described in the post he linked to you'll need to apply one of the suggested remedies. I expect that all the climate models your computer downloads have been crashing. The solution is easy:

In your Boinc Manager (advanced view) go to the Projects tab.
Climateprediction will be listed.
Click on it to highlight it.
Now press the Reset button.

That should solve the problem and your models will not now crash.

When you tell us that you have done this, we'll ask one of the programmers to give your computer its daily model quota again.

I had a run of calc errors. I re-installed BOINC and then noticed that my first install was MUCH SMALLER. Obviously, a download/install problem.

When I reinstalled, all seems to be working just fine now.

Thanks.

I have a "Computation error". The details are:

http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1017138

The version was 6.12.33. I have upgraded to 6.12.35 and restarted (the whole computer) but there doesn't seem to be any way to determine if the problem still exists.

Thanks!

Restarting the computer and upgrading Boinc probably isn't sufficient to solve this problem. You need to detach from climateprediction then reattach. Or you can reset climateprediction as I described in red five posts above this.

When you say you have either

* detached and reattached

* or reset climateprediction

we will ask a programmer to allow your computer's daily quota again. You will then get new models and we will see whether they succeed.

Although I had 4 errors all together, I reinstalled the BOINC and things began working just fine again. Could you please allow downloads again. Thanks.

I KNOW what caused my errors. I upgraded to a new version of BOINC, but it was a bad download. Only partial. By the time I noticed, there were 4 errors. I reinstalled. The second install was much bigger than the first, so that obviously accounted for the bad calc.

Everything is ticking just fine now. I do not need to reset project.

Please reconnect my download rights.

Thank you.

I got a message that my computer was misconfigured and is crashing models. I updated the BOINC Manager from 6.12.33 to 6.12.35. I also reset the project.

Can you guys take a look and see if I'm still crashing models

John

There's a sticky post about this at the top of the Macintosh section of this board explaining it.
Basically, Reset the project, or Detach then Attach.
Some people are re-installing BOINC, which may or may not fix it. We can't tell about this, because there's currently no work available at present.
