When the AM3P’s ran out last week I through that was the end of them. Now I see on the “server status” page that there are is over 100,000 AM3P’s listed as “ready to send.” I like these zippy little 25 WU’s. :)

I see that the AM3P “ready to send” total is down to 0. Is this the end of the model type or will there be more in a few days? Regardless, I hope that everyone will have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

A slightly different version is in beta test at present.

From the sub-project person on the beta test site:
This experiment is simply an extension of the previous HadAM3P \"Validation and Attribution\" experiment. Whereas the previous set of runs finished in 1999, these runs bring the experiment more up to date by running until 2008. It is expected that workunits will be issued every year for this experiment, when the previous years sea surface temperature and sea ice data has been released by the Met Office, to keep the attribution and validation dataset as up to date as possible.

A beta test is necessary as there has been a slight change in code to allow for this ongoing update to the runs.

I\'m not entirely sure what\'s going on, due to having been away for a few days, but it seems that the new versions mentioned above aren\'t quite ready yet. I will keep an eye on things as best I can over the holiday period.

It looks like the new ones in beta testing aren\'t quite ready yet, and should appear in January.

Although the new application was transferred from Beta on Tuesday, it turns out (as Milo said on Christmas Eve) not to be quite ready yet, and has been withdrawn again. Testing continues....

Withdrawn? Downloaded 7 yesterday. All running happily but a little slower than previous batches. Now averaging 3.3 vs 2.9 s/TS early December.

Noted that the globe graphics also slightly changed. Text now non-bold, harder to read when window sized to about 1/4 of screen!

If you have them on Linux or Mac, abort them. On most Windows computers they should be fine.

See the News thread at the top of Number Crunching.

Many thanks. Use Windows 7 so that\'s all right then.
