Hi,
I was skimming through the top computers stats page and came across this fellow: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?hostid=892711. Apparently, his client gets detached shortly after he downloads a work unit and then he receives full credit for that work unit. Is this a BOINC problem or some sort of cheating?

This is the computer. The member crunches nearly all his tasks to completion.

I can\'t remember offhand all the reasons why a model is reclassified by Boinc as \'client detached\' and \'new\' even after it\'s been completed. One reason is when models are restored from backup but that\'s unlikely to be the case with such a large number of models.

I\'ve looked at the trickles for about 8 models and they all show the amount of work one would expect for the credit given.

I think this is a case of this bizarre Boinc task classification, not a case of cheating. But I don\'t think I\'ve previously seen a computer whose models are all classified as client detached.

I think the reason the question of cheating was raised was because the models showed no trickles received. It looked as if credit was granted without work being done.

Now the models do show trickles, so it must have been some sort of server hick-up.
