Hi. I installed the latest Boinc software, and the installation procedure has completed flawlessly.
But at the end of the installation the boinc client doesn\'t start. If i reboot the computer or i try to start the boinc_gui.exe programm manually, it loads and exists immediatly without any error message on the screen or in the logfile.
Configuration : win2k advanced server, athlon XP2100+, 512 Mb ram, 280Gb hard disk.
Thanks for your help.

I am also getting this problem on version 4.05. The Strange thing is that BOINC worked flawlessly up until yesterday. I actually had 11 days of processing on 1 CPDN work unit and 9 days on another and had been doing Seti also.

The only thing I did different was play Halo (with BOINC running) which I hadn't done since BOINC was installed. Right after I stopped playing, BOINC would open then close immediately after opening. There are no error messages given when it closes.

I tried rebooting three times and that didn't work. I also tried reinstalling ver 4.05 but am still getting the same behavior.

I'm not sure what to try next. I can't detach from the projects because BOINC closes too fast for me to get into the menus.

WinXP PRO SP1, Pentium 4 2.8c HT, ASUS P4P800, 1GB ram, 160GB hard drive.

I was looking on the SETI@HOME site and found <a HREF="http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=272">this</a>.

It has to do with Proxy settings I guess. Although the fix suggested didn't work for me.
