A year ago I ran models from climateprediction.net on both the cpu's of my Intel dual core pc. For a couple of month I ran climateprediction models on one cpu. On the other I ran o.a. CPDN beta. Now I want to run climateprediction models again on both cpu's, but I am not able to start climateprediction net models on the second cpu. For the time being the second cpu runs World Community Grid.
How do I allow Boinc to run climateprediction models on both cpu's?

LoL. If you have the evil thought and get rid of World Community Grid from you projects tab. High light it and just click detach. I wonder what option BOINC will be left with other then work climate on both CPU's.

It is allowed, but BOINC follows the <i>resource allocation</i> that you specify.

Google for "boinc resource share" for more details.

AS DJ says, it's about resource share. And also about patience.
Your BOINC manager knows how much work your computer is capable of doing, and also how much time each of your projects has used up over the weeks and months.
When it decides that WCG has had it's share of attention for now, your other projects will 'get a look in'. Unless you have given them a tiny amount of resouce share compared to WCG, in which case it could be years before the others get their share of processor time.

Hi Leendert

Before you download any extra CPDN tasks, the first most useful thing would be to get your current CPDN model running on one CPU. It hasn't sent a trickle for about 6 weeks.

Your CPDN account does not seem to list your credits from CPDN Beta. We have said in the CPDN Beta News thread at the top of Number Crunching that Beta members must have the same email address for their CPDN and CPDN Beta accounts. If the two accounts have different email addresses, the member's Beta credits are not transferred to their CPDN account.

Or have you got two different CPDN accounts? Your account says you have been a member since 10 March 2009, but you downloaded the Mid-Holocene model before that.

I solved the problem by detaching World Community Grid and CPDN beta.
The HadSM3 models run nicely at 1.29 and 1.4l s/TS

For mo.v:
CPDN ran on the same e-mail and credits were received.
I had to reconnect to the project in march 2009 because of a computer crash and faults in my backup procedures.

Additional info on my credits:

It looks like you have 2 accounts. This may have happened when you re-joined after the computer failure.

If you click on people's names to the left of their posts, you'll see that at the bottom of the page is a list of all of the projects that they are or have run.
You don't have this list, which indicates that this is a different account email to what you use on your other projects.
In which case, the credits that you're currently accumulating will never get added to all of the others.

None what so ever. They effectively belong to 2 different people, as defined by their email addresses.

Pick the one with the most credit and use that.
