My computer successfully completed a wu but to date has downloaded and crashed out of 6 new ones. Every time it\'s an SIGILL (illegal instruction) exception. Should I just leave it until it finds one it likes the look of? I tried resetting the project but that hasn\'t changed anything. |

The ones that have been crashing are hadam3p models. Perhaps change the model preferences in your climateprediction.net preferences of Your Account link to hadsm3 or hadsm3mh. I don\'t know if anyone tested this newer model with an original Athlon in Linux. Could be an SSE or SSE2 problem. |

Thanks for the pointer. I\'ve modded the prefs to select only sm3 and sm3mh so we shall see. Isn\'t technology wonderful? :-) |

That did indeed fix it. Clearly there\'s some issue with the newer models and \'old\' cpus. Is it feasible / possible to compile a list of compatible processors? |

If it is indeed a necessity to have SSE2, then on the Intel side, anything less than an Pentium 4, or Pentium 4 based Celeron, will crash. On the AMD side, any AthlonXP, Duron or older processors will not work. |
