I have received private messages from littleBouncer who\'s a CPDN cruncher in Switzerland. I\'m now discussing his mystery on the forum and not by private message because I can\'t understand exactly what has happened or how or why, but I think we need to know.

On 23 Sep 08 littleBouncer reattached to CPDN and got an AMD ghost host. He once had an Intel Notebook and he now has a Dell Intel. He has never had an AMD.

The same ghost AMD was generated on the same date at Predictor and LHC. LittleBouncer was able to delete the ghost AMD in his LHC account. He contacted me by private message to ask whether I could delete the AMD in his CPDN account. I explained that I can not.

He only has one account at CPDN, P@H, Primegrid and E@H. At LHC, Seti and Pirates he has had several accounts with other usernames; these other accounts are now inactive.

He uses BAM.

Can anyone understand how or why this AMD appeared in littleBouncer\'s CPDN account?

THX to Mo.v to open this thread.
As you can see , I could delete that ghost host on Predictor, but I couldn\'t delete it on CPDN, because there is no \'Delete\'-Button on CPDN\'s Computerpage.

I don\'t know how this ghost host was created. At 23.09.08 I have made only 2 actions:

1. Reattache to CPDN, after several years of inactivity.
2. I tried to install a computer on the BAM \'host list\', where I activated \'prepare new host\', because my computer is not listed there.

I want delete this ghost host for statistical reasons.
Otherwise it is also a security-problem !(not for me, but for the ghost host....)

The ghost AMD\'s still there in your account on Predictor. Click on All hosts and you\'ll see it. Your Predictor account may have allowed you to delete this ghost host, but I think the only active Predictor admin, David Braun, froze his database some time ago because of a different problem. So Predictor web pages probably don\'t update. You could try asking Mr Braun on the Predictor forum to delete the computer for you or update your account pages manually but asking would probably be a waste of time.

If after a few days nobody at CPDN knows how a person can have a computer listed that they have never owned, you could copy the question to Willy\'s BoincStats forum. There are two forum sections for BAM users. Willy must know more about how BAM works than anyone else.

LittleBouncer, one of the moderators is discussing your problem in a private CPDN forum. He will need to talk to a project programmer who is away at the moment. So please don\'t post about this on any other forums. We will need to be patient and wait a few days.

THX for replies.

I have no need to be impatient.

Maybe I must contact Willy from BOINCstats. But my english isn\'t as well to precise my problem. Because my BAM-account there looks not as it should (no host listed in the \'host list\' area , no CPDN\'detailed stats\'-icon on \'my projects list\'(all other project have this Icon(link)), and a few computer listed in the \'my detailed stats\' - \'link to users host stats\'( 4 or 5 time the same Intel)).

We will need to wait until Wednesday or Thursday when the CPDN programmer returns. After our moderator has discussed the problem with him we will probably know whether it\'s a BOINC problem or a problem with BAM. If it\'s a BOINC problem, our moderator will inform the BOINC programmers. If we think it\'s a problem with BAM, one of us can explain the situation to Willy for you.
