I have had to reinstall all programs, including BOINC, after a disk crash and took the opportunity to upgrade to XP 64 BOINC model. Since this the recorded stats have been half those I usually manage and today the stats show that I have lost 197,219 credits.

Credit won\'t be lost if you reinstall... but did you attach the new Boinc installation to your old account, or did you create a new one? Where are the stats you are referring to, on this website, on your Boinc manager, or perhaps at a third-party Stats site?

The account you are posting from shows 199K credit.

Do you run one project (CPDN), or perhaps several different projects? If several, are all the projects attached to your Boinc manager?

I'm a volunteer and my views are my own.

Click on \'All hosts\' here:

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/hosts_user.php?userid=230500&show_all=1&sort=rpc_time

I wonder whether all these records of what is probably the same computer need to be merged? Ziggy, you need to go to one of your computer record pages, then click \'Merge this computer\' at the bottom.

It may be possible to delete the top two records which don\'t seem to have any models. I\'d start by trying to delete them.

Thank you, I have reduced the proliferation of IDs to one but the ID on my current project was none of these. How do I re-attach this errant ID?

The stats I referred to are the BOINC detailed stats, and I THOUGHT I had attached to my existing account.

I think the problem at BoincStats has been sorted out. Right CPDN ID# for you and all the credits are there:

Many thanks for sorting it out. I had not realised I had accumulated so many computer id\'s. No wonder I was struggling to pass the 25,000th position mark! I am most grateful.

We will be watching to see when you reach 200,000 credits!

Whenever one restores a backup of the contents of the BOINC folder, a new computer record and computer ID number are created on all projects that the computer was attached to. So after restoring a backup, multi-project crunchers need to go to their computer page on every project, delete/merge the extra computer records, then update the projects in BOINC manager. Updating informs the project servers about the change.

Lost credits can also be caused by a member rejoining the project and creating a second new account. It is unfortunately impossible to merge two personal accounts. So I\'m glad you didn\'t have this problem.
