I upgraded my BOINC projects to 64 Bit and all other 5 projects continue working except climateprediction:

Message from server: platform \'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu\' not found

As I read and other BOINC forums, the reason is that climate prediction still doesn\'t offer a 64 Bit version and does not send 32 bit clients to 64 bit BOINCs (as many other projects do). Onew finished workunit now hangs for several weeks (\'Ready to report\'), but never gets reported because of this error. I can continue crunching the existing work units but I suspended them as sending results to server doesn\'t work.

Is there a sparkle on the horizon when climate prediction will support 64 bit clients?

As per your other posts, no specific date - \'when the project gets a chance\'.

Do any of the projects you run actually USE 64-bit applications? As far as I know it\'s only APS, primegrid, and one other whose name I don\'t recall?

In the last months a lot of other projects have released 64 bit applications.

At the moment, 14 BOINC projects povide native 64-bit applications for at least one OS, as you can see here. Almost all of the other BOINC projects are courteous enough to send at least 32-bit applications to 64-bit clients instead of shunning them.

I\'ve posted a sticky at the top of this forum.
As I said, when it happens, people will be told.

Thanks for the list Augustine. I see from the list that the projects that Dentaku runs does include a 64-bit native application (SIMAP), the others being 32-bit.

I also run ABC@home that has 64 bit apps.

For a list of projects that have native 64 bit clients and send 32 bit clients to 64 bit BOINCs, see:
