I\'ve just finished crunching four 160-year models. The results have been uploaded and reported. Time to detach this PC from the project (alas), as we part ways in 6 weeks time. I\'ll keep crunching elsewhere.

Now, looking in BOINC at disk usage, I still have 14MB used by the CPDN project. Is this normal? Is there any data I should keep before I detach?

Just a follow up, this 14MB comprises of model applications such as hadcm3trans_5.15_windows_intelx86.exe in both .exe and .zip form, and also a bunch of fonts and images. I can\'t see anything which looks like science data, and I\'m guessing detatching will nuke all this.

Yeah. Detaching should get rid of all that stuff. BOINC keeps it around in case you would start a new model of the same type. That way everyone saves bandwidth by not downloading the files again.

Edward, I\'d hold off for a bit if I were you because you haven\'t yet been given full credit for the last two models to complete - it took a while for you to get the full credit for your first two.

Hi, thanks for the advice. If I look here:

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?userid=17401

- I see four models completed successfully. For each of those models, should I be seeing a credit of 41472? It\'s not doing any harm me staying attached for a few days.

Hi Edward,

Congrats on the finished models! Yes, you\'ll get the full credit for all of them, it just takes a while for it to work its way through the system as the last 2 only uploaded today

Thanks Marj! ;-) Yes, Edward, you should get 41,472 credits for each complete model - I was keeping half an eye on your progress, so noticed that it took at least 24 hours after completion for your first 2 to show the full credit. So it\'s perhaps safest not to detach until the credits update fully.

CPDN stats only update once a day, in a 2-part process that means the figures are often a bit strange (e.g. the team RAC and total credits can vary depending on which page of the stats you\'re looking at!) as well as slow to catch up! Those of us who started off crunching with team Scotland in BBC got a bit spoiled by having access to Iain Inglis\' wonderful team statistics that updated every 3 hours.

The threads where we\'re keeping count of the team\'s completed CPDN models are here in the \"Oxford boards\" and here in the Scottish forums.
