Just spotted a recent trickle from Moira after more than a year! Welcome back Moira - and maybe we haven\'t completed our last 160-year model after all? ;-)

Meantime, several of our biggest \"crunchers\" have decided to concentrate on other BOINC projects for the mo, as can be seen from the team\'s BOINC summary below. The result is that we\'ve shot past 60 million credits in BOINC overall - indeed are nearly at 65 million now - but I don\'t suppose we\'ll stay in 27th position in overall credit in CPDN for much longer. I do hope to be adding my twopennorth again soon though ;-)

Recent changes made to the way CPDN credits are reported (I think I've got that right!) have messed up the brilliant team Scotland stats set up and maintained by Iansm. Ian says that he could adjust his stats accordingly, but it would take a lot of time and he's not willing to do it unless people really want him to. IanB, our team leader, has set up a poll in the Scottish forum here, where team members can make their feelings known. The vote itself is anonymous, but I think you will need to register with the forum to be able to vote - however, that's no hardship, it's a fun and friendly place and you don't need to post there if you don't want to. (Though I know from experience that it's hard to resist, once you get interested!)

Just thought I'd mention that one of our fearless leader's computers is currently in the top twenty in CPDN, at no. 18 - way to go, IanB! ;-)

There are some astonishing machines up there at the top. Way beyond my experience!

Edit: Some of these top computers look very reliable from past performance. Lots of cores. Now lots of FAMOUS. In two or three weeks we may have an easy way to start working out from looking at very few pages what the approximate ratio of FAMOUS success:failure is.

Hi, Mo, thanks for comment ;-)

A very warm team Scotland welcome to Faolan, who has been with the project for some time but has just joined our team. Thanks for joining, happy continued crunching and we hope we might meet you in one or other of the forums sometime. (Lovely photos on Faolan's website by the way.)

And, with the addition of Faolan's credits, we've passed 40,000,000 credits in CPDN alone rather sooner than we expected! ;-)

Team leader IanBoyle has now asked team members to vote on this before 28 June. If you have an opinion one way or the other, please do use this link and vote.

Many thanks.

Hey folks, team Scotland now has over 100,000,000 credits in BOINC overall! CPDN still far and away our biggest project. Well done everybody, keep on crunching, I hope to get back to it myself soon! ;-)

(Meantime my BBC credits seem to have gone missing on the team list for BOINC overall - will need to investigate that too.)

By the way, Milo has temporarily enabled access to the BBC database, if anyone else would like to "park" their BBC credits with team Scotland - probably won't be possible for long! ;-)

Oops, haven't been here for a bit - was over in "Number Crunching" trying to find a way to re-attach my missing BBC credits, but no such luck! But many thanks to Milo and everyone else who tried to help, you're all lovely people and your concern is much appreciated!

And now the team has passed 120,000,000 credits in BOINC overall!!! ;-) ;-)

AND, in CPDN itself, with the welcome return to the team of crcam, the addition of several "icemen" by Iain Inglis, and various other people - most notably scottishwebcamslive.com, Iansm, Faolan and Rory - doing a fantastic amount of crunching, team Scotland has risen to 24th place in total credit - and currently 16th position in RAC. Well done, everybody! ;-)

RAC is now at an all time high. We have been as high as 10th position in RAC (Dec '07) and 19th in credits.

Mind you, we should be one place higher in credits because there is a shortfall of 2,032,736 in the (CPDN stats) team total.
Add up all members credits (copy / paste each page into a spreadsheet is the quickest way) to confirm. RAC total is correct though.

That difference was first spotted several weeks ago after a member re-joined the team. His old team has been left with a surplus
but not 2 million, around 1.6.

Never believe statistics. ;-)

Thank you for joining us, bitsy, we hope to meet you soon in one of the forums and, if you're having any problems running the project, please don't hesitate to ask questions, either here or in the "Oxford boards" or in the team forum. Everyone's very helpful! ;-)

Yet another warm team Scotland welcome to JCamPAC10, who joined the project and our team at the weekend. Happy crunching and we hope to meet you soon in one of the forums ;-)

And he/she is our 100th team member, so I think that deserves some fireworks, especially as we haven't had any for a while!

Re User of the Day: The recent changes that caused probs with our team stats also interfered with my favourite page for checking "User of the Day". But now I've found another source of info - here are links to:

Complete list of team Scotland UotD in all projects - from which you can see that Rory and I were both recently User of the Day in CPDN :-)

Today's UotD in all projects

By the way, you can be selected as User of the Day in a project only if you create a profile for yourself in that project, which hardly any members of our team have done. :) You can create a participant profile here - it's not essential to include a picture and, even if you do, it doesn't have to be a picture of yourself!

Sorry I haven't been checking/reporting on team milestones for a while, just no time, but some of team Scotland have recently reached major milestones in BOINC overall, all including some credits in climate projects (all his credits in Iain's case):

Iain Inglis 5,000,000 credits

Faolan and talister each 10,000,000 credits

Iansm 20,000,000 credits

Well done guys - and what a pretty credit pie chart talister has ;-)

And our fearless leader, scottishwebcamslive.com, is heading for an even BIGGER milestone soon - fireworks will be in order for that one, methinks! ;-)

But we also serve who can't manage to crunch as much as these guys, all contributions to the project are useful and appreciated.
