No, you can (usually) ignore it. See : http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=50303#50303 and http://bbc.cpdn.org/forum_thread.php?id=1573&nowrap=true#12452 It\'s also worthwhile have a browse through the various \'README\' posts in the following forum: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewforum.php?f=36 I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. But there are real crashes occurring from time to time. To avoid losing an entire model - especially in an advanced stage - it helps a lot to do a regular backup of the entire BOINC folder. Make sure that BOINC & CPDN is not running, then backup BOINC about once every few days. |

We can\'t see any models against your user : could you cut-and-paste in the first 20 lines or so from the messages tab. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

It leads me here: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=439081 The user name which has your current model is \'Howie\', which is why I couldn\'t find them under your posting user. the current model was started today. Both your posting user (Howard) and your modelling user (Howie) were created on the same day (27th March 2006). On that particular \'hostID\', there is only the model started today, but there are some older host IDs which do have models. All the host IDs have the same details, so they\'re probabably only one PC in reality. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/hosts_user.php?userid=178879&show_all=1&sort=rpc_time The model which crashed recently was this one: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=5051923 It looks like it crashed ages ago, and was restored from a backup. That\'s good, but as a result it only tells us about the first crash, not the recent one, so I can\'t give you any ideas about what made it go. It will have uploaded it\'s climate to the servers as it went, so it\'s still all useful data. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

To keep your present model safe, I\'d recommend a look at the project READMEs. Particularly item #5 by Mike in the README about avoiding model crashes. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=5479 Cpdn news |
