Do NOT reset.

This is actually a warning, not an error.

The newer version is a little more sensitive to certain things windows is doing, but it\'s not hurting the work.

The warning is that it lost a \"heart beat\". The reasons these are lost is from Windows doing some of the backend things it does. Time calls, indexing, etc.

The next release is supposed to fix this warming to not happen as often.

What\'s the story here? Are my models corrupted? I\'m running 4 models in parallel.

The server is running slow at the moment, so I can\'t look at your individual results - but are you by any chance running the new(ish) BOINC version 5.8.11?

If so, rest easy - these messages are \"bogus\" and \"harmless\". Ignore them. (quotes from David Anderson, principal BOINC developer)

If you want to reduce them, you could try updating to BOINC v5.8.14 (usual warnings apply: fully exit/stop BOINC first; take a backup etc).

But whatever you do, DON\'T reset the project - you\'ll lose all 4 models if you do.

The next release is supposed to fix this warming to not happen as often.

Is that warming, as in global warming? Is the next version of BOINC going to fix that too, LOL?

Nice one Pooh (and good advice, as always).

Where do you find this download?

Go to the normal BOINC download page, and click on \'All versions\' underneath the download it automatically recommends for your system.

It changes quite frequently - today\'s version is v5.8.15 - so heed the warning: (MAY BE UNSTABLE - USE ONLY FOR TESTING) and be prepared to swap back, or upgrade again, if problems appear.

And in the special case of CPDN, make sure BOINC is fully shut down and backed up before upgrading.

I\'m using BOINC 5.8.0. I always have my temperature in my taskbar of my CPU. Today, I noticed that the temperature immediately dropped from 43C to 38C. I open BOINC- This is what I see-

And my climateprediction.net turns from 12% to 0%.
What is wrong? Is my hardware faulty? I have been running that climateprediction.net model for 300 hours now, so I don\'t think it could be it.

The first line contains the problem.
Perhaps a virus checker had the file locked at that moment, preventing it from being used.

the \"no finished file\" message is a trivial warning as others have noticed.

On the good side, the new cpdn we\'re beta testing uses a lot less file I/O and I think is a lot less prone to these errors. I was running cpdn and backing up my hard drive to a firewire drive (200GB), doing other stuff, running a virus & spyware scan, and the model was fine (the hard drive light was solid red for two hours).

Could the problem also have been that the virus scan was running (this hasn;t crashed my model before) AND that I was playing World of Warcraft, AND uploading using azureus? (ALl of them were very Hard-Drive related.)

Yes to all.
It\'s best to menu/Suspend the manager before doing all of these resource intensive things.
This is a Fortran supercomputer program, and doesn\'t handle competion for resources very well.
