Hi,

To backup, exit the model (right-click on the icon and \'exit\'), then browse your local PC and get to c:\\program files\\. Right-click on \\boinc\\, and \'copy\', then right-click again and \'paste\'.

But if you\'re just reinstalling Boinc, the backup isn\'t strictly necessary (although wise). Uninstall Boinc, Reinstall the latest version in the same location, and then it should work OK.

The important part in above post is that BOINC must not be running when taking a backup.

There are multiple ways how to actually take a backup; either simply copy the entire BOINC folder to another location, or use a backup program such as Windows ntbackup program, or a 3rd-party application like Acronis True Image. Even WinZip or another compression program can be useful.

Backups should be taken on a regular basis, e.g. once a week. This help to recover a model if it should crash.
