You have THREE Models downloaded today.

Where do you get the message? Cranking up Windoze?
Starting CPDN? (I doubt that, because it\'s only required on Sign-up [initialization].)

Please be more specific.

For my curiosity: How many times have you restarted your computer since downloading those three Models today?

the problem is when i launch the manager but i found a solution at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=23845#202309 which seems to work

For your curiousity i had downloaded the bbc climate change back in april 2006 and was running a backup when i first experienced the problem. My version started looping at 2016 so as a desperate measure which i knew was unlikely to work i went to an old backup (it\'ll teach me to backup more regularly) but it started looping again at the same point so i came to climateprediction.net for a new version (for some reason mine wouldn\'t download a new model) so in the past month or so yes i\'ve done few restarts.

ps i\'ve lost all my credit from my previous membership as the system wouldn\'t accept my password (signup password)

pps why is my manager running two models at the same time?
the reason i downloaded 3 models is that when i noticed there were two models running i suspended one and the manager just started downloading another model which i stopped and shrugged. For the moment i\'ve just let it run the first two models downloaded yesterday.

The BBC project is no longer giving out new models, so when BBC members finish or finish with a model they now have to switch to the full version of boinc and get models from cpdn.

If you\'ve registered for cpdn with exactly the same name and email address as on the BBC project, your BBC credits will still count for you in boinc stats.

I suspect you got the 3rd unwanted model because you used the suspend button in the Tasks/Work tab. This suspends the workunit but doesn\'t suspend boinc. So boinc finds itself idle, looks for more work and downloads a new model. You can highlight and abort the model that\'s done less work on the core with 2 models.

I\'d suggest having a look at the README posts on the php forum (if you want to post there you have to register separately):

http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewforum.php?f=36&sid=9b8cdaa1db12467a126b8121f2d1b865

In the Running the model README, the top tips are useful and also the links called No new models please! I have enough! and The 4 Suspend options.

In the README about avoiding crashes, Les\'s backup method in link #1 is quick and easy. And in link #5, Mike suggests ways to keep models safe and prevent them crashing.
