Based on this message snippet, it would appear that my system is now working on a new workload:

Is it safe to delete the folder containing the previous work request (hadcm3lbm_c8mm_25340321_0)?

Yes, you can delete it.

The error 1 for the previous model, usually means that Windows shut down, and the modeling program didn\'t get enough time to save the model\'s files and shut down, before Windows got impatient and killed it.
It\'s best to Exit from the Manager first.
(Menu, File/Exit.)

edit
That is, if you don\'t have a backup, in which case, you can carry on with the model by using a \'restore\'.

hmmm....in my situation, Windows didn\'t shut down, but the screen saver had kicked in.

I am curious about the \"restore\" command being referenced. Are you referring to restoring data from a system backup? Even so, how could I specify to the BOINC Mgr. which workload to process? Since I am only working on one project, it seems like there is a \"default\" workload that starts when the BOINC Mgr. is started.

However, if I decide to simply let my system work on this new workload, and delete the folder named after the previous workload, can any additional files/folders be deleted as well? It\'s not obvious from looking at the contents of the \"climateprediction.net\" folder what files and folders can be deleted when a workload is completed, and what cannot.

Thx.

By backup and restore, copying the entire \'c:\\program files\\boinc\' folder when boinc is shut down is fine. Copying individual model folders around won\'t work, since key information is held at the higher level.

If you navigate to c:\\Program Files\\boinc\\projects\\climateprediction.net\\, and look at the names of the folders under there, most will be the same as old models you\'ve had which have crashed, and one will have the name of the running model. You can delete the folders for the crashed models.
