One of my computers (ID 200380) is repeated reporting missing \'final\' file. The next message suggests that I \"may\" want to reset the project, implying that I have a choice. So, what are my choices? Resetting would throw away all work done on the model no? CPU time is currently 1080 hours with 2200 to go. (work unit ID is 5235154).

Please advise.

You mean \"exited with zero status but no finished file\"? In that case normally you can just ignore it, BOINC will try again.

Yes that is I the message I am receiving. I would like to ignore it as work on the model seems to be continuing and CPU hours are now past 1118. But the machine has not received any credit for 8 days now so I don\'t know if any real work is being done. Here are some recent messages from the project:

Could you make a note of the model date for a day or two? Sometimes models start to cycle around from the start of the year repeatedly, if they become unstable.

Click the \'show graphics\' button, press \'Z\' to hide the BBC side bar if it is diaplayed, and the model date should be present.

I am on the tasks tab - the show graphcics button is there but is greyed out. I have never tried grapchics because it uses too much cpu time. I am running Boinc Manager 5.4.9. Show Graphics unavailable for seti@home tasks too - for what that is worth.

Have you first clicked on one of the wus to let BOINC know which one you want to display?

Yes I have. Clicking on any of the running WUs either CPDN or S@H does not enable Show Graphics. I looked through the user account preferences but I didn;t see anything that enabled or disabled graphics. Changed a couple of graphics options just to indicate I was interested in graphics and then updated project but that hasn\'t had any effect.

Graphics on a service install needs some extra tweaks. If you are not running as a service let us know.

OK! Setting up desktop interaction on my service has enabled grpahics.Have made a note of date and time and will monitor for a couple of days. As it turns out I have been monitoring % progess since Thursday. In 4.5 days it has increased by 0.249%. My CPDN resource share is 100 vs 150 for SETIand if I have done the math correctly the numbers seem to extrapolate to over 1400 DAYS of CPU time for the model.

If Prefs on Your Account are set to Leave in Memory When Suspended, it will save a lot of rerun over the life of a Model.

I have been tracking the model date for the last day:

GMT Model Date
Tues 0129 19/12/1968 0330
Tues 0835 25/03/1969 1500
Tues 1554 27/02/1969 0030
Wed 0102 05/05/1969 1300
Wed 0640 07/02/1969 0030

BTW the model is being left in memory whenever it is paused.

Mike, I\'m assuming you are working for the project. If not, thanks for your help, but I need someone from the project to tell me what needs to be done next. Is there anything to be learned from running the model any more? Is there a way to recover 14 days of credits? Should I just reset the project and write this model off?

Tom : the symptoms coour for cpdn and seti. so its a general problem with the client. The problem described earlier is usually harmless. and shouldn\'t result in a chronic failure.
Try restarting the client.

I rebooted my machine 48 hours ago, hoping it would fix the problem.

Scanning the messages window I see seven \"no finished file messages from CPDN.

No sign of any such messages from S@H.

Current model time is 6/1/69, 23:00. Time is moving backwards again (see list in previous message).

BOINC Mgr stats tab shows I have received zero credit for this model since July 14. Also, my completion percentage is at a standstill (now 30.067 - a week ago it was 30.000)

I hate to throw away 8 weeks of work but I need assurances from you more definitive than \"it shouldn\'t be a problem\". Can you check your results database at CPDN and see if my recent results are valid? If they are why am I not getting any credit?

Thanks for your help.
