Just got a new PC at work, and tried to install BOINC 5.4.9, but can\'t connect to http://climateprediction.net/. Error given as

Is this a manifestation of the dreaded firewall? If so, any chance the error message could be modified to indicate same?

It could be the firewall, or the server down, or an incorrect url.
Hence the \'general\' nature of the message.

What is on the next line; the result of attempting to access the reference site? (Which I THINK is Google.)

Exactly the same again - (Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site)
so presumably it can\'t get to Google either.

Yep, all variations with and without \'http://\' etc., without success.

I guess we\'re just left with the firewall. Thanks anyway Les.
