I was a Seti Boinc user who decided to run ClimatePrediction as well. After having download issues at first with Climate Prediction (but seti data at the same time was fine), the check sum errors just went away after 36 hours. It now appears to download all the right data without error and I have a file in my work page called hadsm3 4.03 05fo_000032050_0 0.00% 385:44:03 with a report deadline a year away and the status is Downloading. There is no access to graphics. There is nothing in the Transfer page and the projects are set for 50% each. Is this really still downloading? Its been a day.

I was processing seti units each 3 hours before ClimatePrediction and I still am, so I guess nothing is running on ClimatePrediction.

I\'m running XP pro HP 2.8G Pent 4

I'm also experiencing part of this problem. On my P4 2.53GHz, the BOINC status for cp.net is stuck at "Downloading". I've even renamed the projects\climatepredictor.net directory to force it to redownload again, but that didn't help. On my XP 3000+, it is actually doing the cp.net work. Both systems are running WinXP Pro SP2 and both of them have two other projects attached (SETI & Predictor).

I can reset the CP Project and it gets rid of the files and downloads again and just sits there! I don't know what to do either.

More - I just rebooted my PC and got the following:

climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 16:12:57 - Started download of hadsm3_4.03_windows_intelx86.exe
climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 16:15:31 - Giving up on download of hadsm3_4.03_windows_intelx86.exe: File downloaded was not the correct file or was garbage from bad URL
climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 16:15:31 - verify_downloaded_file(): projects\climateprediction.net\hadsm3_4.03_windows_intelx86.exe: internal error
climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 16:15:31 - Checksum or signature error for hadsm3_4.03_windows_intelx86.exe

Have you updated to the 4.05 Bonic core client? If you are running the Bonic 4.03 client it wont work.

I had a simalar problem in that the big cp.net WU worked and crunched but the s@h WU's wouldnt even download. I updated the core client and no probs the cp.net crunches away pausing every now and again for a seti WU to process then it resumes the cp.net WU.

Sorry but this is about as technical as i can get!

Hope this helps!

There was a problem with one of the scheduling servers earlier today
which has now been taken of line.
You would receive this message if the core client tried downloading the exe
& startup files from that server.
Try reattaching.

I experience simmilar problems. I'm using boinc 4.5. I just downloaded the climate program and also een WU. So far so good, but the WU is only in the "ready to run" state. No matter what I try, it stays that way. It won't run at all while my Seti Wu is going fine.

EDIT: After several hours yhe WU started working. It is not clear why it waited so long

Hi josvliet,

That's BOINC's idea of preemptive scheduling for you :)

What happens from now on should depend on what you've set the resource shares for the projects to.

Since there were no errors on seti downloads over this same period, I can only assume that the errors on the downloads were not on the link to Australia were I live. Either something local in the US, on campus or something in the software.

No one else had problems so a software glitch somewhere I expect.

Anyway - no problem now - 3 days later

Even though I did nothing wrong and seti was quite stable, the system reported errors and did nothing for days. Last night as I left the room I reset the ClimatePrediction. This morning there were no errors and it was all working fine. No reason. Nothing I did. It just finally got its self sorted out.

Seems that there are a few bugs in the system still. Yes I am on 4.05.

This may have accounted for some errors today, but this had been going on for days now. Anyway as of last night my time is was not working, but came good finally 3 days after I started.

I look forward to some stability from here on. Thanks for the info

It seems that I've got rid of the Downloading status as well after resetting the project. However, I've encounter a different error (which I will post in a different thread).

Thanks.
