Hi, looks like there should be some new functionality in boinc client, because its absolutely unprotected to system crashesd (i.e. power outage...). After this event some of the working files were corupted and I lost hunderts of cpu hours of work. Realy will be fine, that boinc client will create a backup of working files, before opening them. This will result of losting onnly \"last\" (daily) work. Periodic backups (i.e. 12h) will be fine too.

It only takes a minute and a half to do it manually :)
Just suspend boinc and copy the entire folder to an external drive for example. Surely you have a minute and a half a few times a week? ;)

Note: it may be wise to disallow fetching new work, or in some cases it\'ll download a new model when suspending.

I don\'t know any application that does its own backups in case of a system crash. This is really the user\'s responsibility. I do a full backup every week, and that really takes only a few minutes.
