I\'m currently running with BOINC v4.19. I see that the current version seems to be 5.2.13

Last time I upgraded I lost a half completed work unit. People on here suggested how I might have been able to avoid that ... but I can\'t find a relevant post.

Is this still a problem when upgrading?

Are there pressing reasons why I should upgrade?

4.19 was one of the very good ones. If you are still running a Model downloaded with 4.19, all I can say is that, if it were me. I\'d finish the Model with 4.19 and THEN upgrade. (As far as I know, you won\'t get a new Model to run with 4.19.) You might get different advice from someone else, so...

In any event, when you go to upgrade, use the Windoze \"ad/remove\" facility to remove boinc. (This is the last time you\'ll have to do that; later versions overlay each other okay.) Then, install (now current) 5.2.13 and you\'re good to go.

Deleting and reinstalling boinc *shouldn\'t* trash the Model. Don\'t know what happened to your work last time.

Apparently one of the .xml files can occasionally get corrupted in the process. So a backup is useful.

I\'ll do that then. Thanks
