Hi,

Does anyone know why I always get this problem when trying to run the sulphur cycle stuff? I have Mac OS X 10.3.9, and am running SETI with no problems.

The messages from the results pages are attached below.

It looks like you haven\'t loaded the application library required for Macs from the download page. This is a direct link.

Thanks for the reply. I had installed that library (I had a different collection of errors before doing so). How can I check that it has installed correctly, or in the right place?

The stderr output shown for your result id 1764794 tells you where it should be:
dyld: sulphur_um_4.22_powerpc-apple-darwin can\'t open library: /opt/ibmcmp/lib/libxlsmp.A.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
But looking at your error messages again it looks like you\'ve got a directory permissions problem. Did you install BOINC as the user you\'re running it as?

Yes, I installed as the same user.

What should the directory permissions be? Would setting them by hand work?

The BOINC user needs to be able to read, write and traverse every directory in the BOINC tree.

I\'ve no Mac experience but believe you can get to an underlying Unix shell. If that\'s the case running chown and chmod u+rwx on your BOINC directory (and all its subdirectories) should work.

I\'ve got it working now. Here\'s what I did, in case it is of use to anyone else:

1. I tried setting permissions in the relevant directory by hand. This didn\'t work, although the model ran further than before.
2. I finished the SETI block I was doing, detached from all projects, and deleted all traces of climateprediction, boinc and seti anywhere on my computer.
3. I ran the Disk Utility to \"repair permissions\" on my hard disk. It changed, amongst other things, the ownership of .
4. I reinstalled boinc and the climate prediction mac library, and everything seems to be working fine.

Thanks for your help!
