Hi CPDN-Team,

I have troubles to join my team \"Erster Kontakt\".
I can do it, and receive the answer \"you have joined team Erster Kontakt\", but it will not have an effect to the stats or my boinc running CPDN. When I enter the account page, on the first is written \"Team: None\", but when I go further, on the main account page is listed: \"Team Erster Kontakt\".

First I thought it would take just time, but nohting happened. So I quit and rejoined about three times. Nothing happened again.

Please tell me, what is not working, or what I´m doing wrong.

Thanks in advance, yours,

Invain

It takes some time. An update of the client should get the client to reflect the new team. The stats will not be updated until the next run of the stats script or about 12 hours.

Hi,

sorry, I´d missed to say, there were several days between these changes (quit / join).

I don´t know at all, in other Boinc projects it is nearly to \"at once\", so I suppose another problem...

thanks for any suggestions,

Invain

I think you are not listed at the team stats because you don\'t have earned any credit until yet.

In the meantime an A64/3000 should long have trickled - I wonder if there\'s a different problem

Are there any messages in the BOINC messages tab about connecting to the server, in particular, something like:

2005-12-31 14:42:51 [climateprediction.net] Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
2005-12-31 14:42:51 [climateprediction.net] Reason: To send trickle-up message
2005-12-31 14:42:51 [climateprediction.net] Note: not requesting new work or reporting results
2005-12-31 14:42:55 [climateprediction.net] Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded

If you don\'t have trickle-up messages, are the trickle_up files accumulating in your \"projects\\climateprediction.net\" folder?

If neither of these, your model isn\'t running, and we\'ll have to look a bit deeper into the basics.

(One possibility, is that you are not leaving your computer on long enough for the model to reach a \'checkpoint\', and so it is restarting from the beginning each time you power up your computer.)

Hey Les,

I do have these trickle sends, earned already 984 \"points\", but still not in my team. It is really disappointing. Which bit has been set wrong in the database? ;-(

Any suggestions left?

greetings,

Invain

Something is still wrong with your credits.
Nothing is shown under your name alongside the message you posted, or on your Account page, or on your model page.
Also, these pages say that you have not uploaded any trickles.

And neither a slab nor a sulphur model\'s credits add up 984.
For slab, a trickle is 94.52 and for sulphur, 160.68.
The model shown in your pages is a sulphur model, sent on 15 Jan 2006, which is also the last date that your computer contacted the server.
The only other thing that I can think of, is that you were running a classic model before, and are now trying to use those credits under BOINC.
This isn\'t possible.

Forget about trying to join a team until you have solved the connection problem, and are showing some credits on your Account page.

Hey Les,

here comes some drive in the problem: somehow I have different accounts with the same name. How could this happen?

The one without credits and no team
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=150336

The one with credits and without team
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=150339

If I was not so upset about this facts for weaks, I´d laugh. How can I change these things together. Seems, I am really lost in the database...

Would be happy about any ideas about that.

Sincerely,

Invian

Sorry, we\'ve been literally flooded by people having problems with the BBC project.

What I would suggest is that you delete yourself from the team, then use the other account to re-join. And also post from there, etc.
Just ignore the account from which you are now posting. There have been lots of people joining and soon after leaving again.

The difficulty may be in USING the other account.
I\'m having trouble thinking about how to do it.

Perhaps change your user name here slightly, (add a number after it), (\"Change other account info\" on your Account page), so that you can tell the difference between them, then logout of here, (on your account page), and log back in. If you use your current name, this may take you to the other account, which still has this name.

Or you may need to change your email address here, then logout, etc.
