Can we disable the auto-benchmark and run it manually or it can\'t be done ?

The problems that I find:
Sometimes in the middle of the night when the pc is running alone, BOINC asks for a benchmark! The answer is :
Aborting CPU benchmarks, one or more active tasks are still running.
After this the computation is stopped and remains stopped till someone restarts BOINC!

Do you have the latest version of Boinc? If not, please upgrade to 5.2.13 in the downloads section

What you have described is the well known \'benchmark bug\' in BOINC 4.45. Which is why you should upgrade, as Ryle says.
And no, it\'s not possible to stop automatic benchmarks.

Actually this happened to me just a few days ago; with 5.2.13

To prevent this from happening I now run a manual benchmark test each time I start BOINC.

OK, one other thing that I should have mentioned: in your general preferences, set \"Leave applications in memory while preempted? \" to yes.
Otherwise, I think, you will still have problems, because the timing wasn\'t changed, just that the model data is now left in memory if you ask for this, whereas with 4.45, the data was dumped regardless.

I experienced the EXACT same problem this morning, and came to this message board to report the problem.

I have been running 5.2.13 for many weeks. I am running ONLY CP.net on my machine here at work.

The ironic thing is that the benchmarks never ran because it \"Failed to stop applications; aborting CPU benchmarks\", but CP.net was shut down and didn\'t restart. I suspended BOINC and then resumed it and CP.net fired up right away.

I will change my preference for \"Leave applications in memory while preempted?\" to YES and see if that fixes the problem in the future.

Thx --- bt
