Using windows 98, I\'m getting consistent crashes to the BSOD, as they happen with both CPDN and SAH, this seems to be a BOINC error.

Unfortunately true.

Here's a comment (sorry but my HTML linkage skills are zero) :

I had some problems going to the CCv4.05 on my win98 machines. One of them I had to uninstall and delete everything in the BOINC directory to get it working.

Hi, I'm sorry but Windows ME is the earliest Windows supported, Win98 & NT4 does not seem to work.

I re-installed 3.2 then 4.05 as suggested elsewhere, but still got the crash. I then removed (and cleaned up after) BOINC entirely and installed 4.05, it ran just fine. I then attached to CPDN, it downloaded the client and a WU, exited the WU with an unrecoverable error, and crashed while downloading the next WU. SAH is not available at the moment for testing, but given that it crashed before I am not confident.

The CPDN client under BOINC 4.05 won't be able to work with Windows 98, hence the crash you saw in BOINC (probably a -5 error?).

Seti should work without a problem, else kick the Alpha crew. ;)

As I said in my original message, the crash occurs under S@H as well, I just have not been able to perform detailed testing yet.

Consider them kicked. ;)

Apparently after the upgrade at S@H, there are serious problems with Win ME being reported.

Perhaps BOINC dev should have opened beta again like they said they would. This would have given a larger cross section than the too small alpha.
