Message 17992 - Posted: 10 Dec 2005, 17:27:28 UTC

Several of my boxes have trickled today, according to the clients, and the last contact on the hosts page shows this.

However I have no trickles listed since early afternoon on the 9th, some 27hrs ago. Is there a problem with the trickle validator (if there is such a thing) ? Has a server dozed off for a long weekend?

Its not a problem for me, but thought I\'d mention it in case someone needs to do something about it...

regards,

Carl says he\'s off site and can\'t ssh into it, so Tolu\'s going to deal with it.

Hm, while I do get Trickles (usually only a few Minutes delay), the Total Credit isn\'t updated very frequently.

Is there a known schedule (e.g. twice a day) to recalculate Credit ?

It is indeed normally run 12 hourly. But I don\'t know whether that is at fixed times, or merely 12 hours since the last run. I did read a post from Carl saying that one routine updating process takes about an hour, so an allowance needs to be made for that as well.

Peter
Your model page shows you are processing a slab, with 41 trickles, and 3,875.22 credits.
This gives close to 94.52, which is the correct amount.

The main account page does not show any trickle information anymore (since Dec. 20th). It is very complicated now to check which computer reported a trickle.

PLEASE BRING THIS INFORMATION BACK!!!

Martin,
see the other 2 or 3 threads for Carl\'s explanation.
You can still see when all of your computers last contacted server on a \"Your computers\" page. I think this option is quite easy to navigate.

Honza,

thanks for your reply. However, this does not work/gives minimum information when using multi-CPU or dual-core computers. The are still listed as 1 computer but run as many WUs as it has CPUs. Therefore it is very complicated to get an overview about the status of the different workunits. You have to navigate every single CPU down to the result ID. Only there you can see if and when a trickle was returned.

I see your point. Perhaps I\'m not as concerned with trickles (hence credit for some users). I do have only dual-cored machines.
Mainly i monitor progress of each model in % - BoincView does very good job over LAN/multi-cpu/cored machines. I watch for final upload and model complete then - it is the case where i dig into the model: final graph etc.

There is still a chance that Carl/Tolu will optimize db so that this feature will be ther again.

If you go to the Your account link, and then click on View Results, you can get to the results/trickles quicker (albeit still not very fast).
