BOINC stops activity when user is active, though I set in my preferences to always run, even when the computer is in use.

--- - 2004-08-05 23:34:49 - Suspending computation and network activity - user is active

Might be something to check into.

Are you using preferences like home / school / work ?

In the client 3.x it is a known bug, that something with this preferences goes wrong.

If you switch the generell preferences to "work always", it should work ...

Oh, don't forget: After you updated the profile on the web-page, force your client to update climatePrediction

I am not a newbie to BOINC, so yes, I know all that. ;) (Sorry, maybe I should've said I was a BOINC Beta tester ;))

I think I cracked it already. If it happens to you, run your benchmarks.
It would appear that my auto-benchmark didn't work. Using preferences for home, always updating the project after I change something on the site.

Weird to even have a setting for requesting a cache of so many days of work, when you consider a unit to run for at least 6 weeks. ;)

But okay, the 'problem' seems to have gone away, for now. Next time I run into it, I'll rerun my benchmarks to check if that did it.

There are some "built-in" defaults in the BOINC core client which actually won't run CPDN! But if you go to "Your account/Edit preferences" on the website, double-check the settings for active, disk space, etc, and then do an "Update" from the client (either right-click on cpdn project in the Win GUI client, or call Linux/Mac client with -update_prefs http://climateprediction.net) it should get the new settings and run OK.
