I have had a sulphur model for some time, but do not seem to be making progress; the progress meter stays at 0.00%. What am I doing wrong?

I\'m afraid it is very difficult to give you advice because we have so little information.

First of all, try looking at the BOINC-Wiki. That explains a lot of things about BOINC, and you may realise that there is something you have overlooked.

Do try exiting BOINC from the BOINC Manager toolbar (File/Exit) and restarting. Sometimes, it may also help to restart Windows.

By all means ask again here for advice, but tell us about what you can see in BOINC Manager. In the work tab, you should see details of your sulphur unit - what does it say under \'status\'?

What information are you given in the messages tab?

What version of BOINC are you running?

I am running the most recent version of Boinc, which I installed on the 5th of December. In the Wok tab, the status says \'Running\', but on the same tab it also says the progrsss is 0.00%. I have 100% resources on the project. The same state occurs each time I start XP. The next stop is wiki, to see if there is something incorrect.

The model saves data every so often, and if your computer is turned off before then, the model starts from the only point it knows about: the beginning.
So you need to run for at LEAST this amount of time.
And you should have your preference setting:
> Leave applications in memory while preempted?
set to yes, so that if memory DOES need to be swapped to hd, your last point of processing will be saved.

When I click on your name then try to see your computers, I don\'t see any. I don\'t really understand that as you clearly do have a computer attached and it certainly sounds like you have successfully downloaded a sulphur WU.

On your hard disk can you find a directory for the sulphur WU name? If so is there a dataout directory? Are there lots of files in there?

If there are lots of files, make a backup of the boinc directory before detatching and reattaching to climateprediction.net. Otherwise just detatch and reattach.

Let us know when you have tried this and whether it has helped.

The preferences are set to YES for this particular field. How long do yoiu suggest that I leave the thing running; it has to be on for an hour or so, and shows no progress.

When I look at the account it says that I have three computers, which is news to me! They are 277102, 273247 and 273128. Perhaps this is the result of getting frustrated when I was loading the thing.

There is a file on the hard drive with some details in. Before I detatched and reattached the project there were about 8, but now there are 4 zip files such as \'sulphur_emwg__000682864\'. The Messages tab says that I am overcomitted...this sounds bad.
