I have had the BOINC running on my OS X.4 for over 2 months. It has never completed a single task successfully. At the most it has completed 12% of an assigned task and then there are some problems and it starts a new work. It seems that there is some problem with connection to the server. On my PC (Windows XP), I get the same message, but the task continues to run until a successful connection is made. On the Mac, however, it aborts the task after a single failed connection attempt. Is this common or have I installed the program incorrectly? It feels like a waist of time and resource. I am also concerned about the fate of the unfinished task. Best regards, T. Gordi |

And it should be waste and not waist, of course. :-) |

Following on the last mail, I have now run the program for a couple of days and it has already started over on 2 jobs. None of them got over 5%. For the last one the message is: Couldn\'t write state file Unrevoverable error for result sulphur-..(process got signal 10) request_reschedule_cups:process exited Computation for resultsulphure_... finished This is followed for a similar message for the second process (Dual G5: 2 processes) The installations went smoothly and I can\'t blame the software anymore. I wrote \"installations\" because I had to first install something, that I think went to the library folder, and then the program. This was according to the instraction on the download file that asks OS X users to do this. Any ideas? Toufigh |
