Twice recently hadsm3_4.13_windows_intelx83.exe has bombed and initiated a Windows XP (Home) error report. I tried to save the error report text file but it was deleted immediately the error report was sent. Would this have been of interest to CPDN technical staff? I notice that I can\'t recover the report file with an \"undelete\" action. Is there any other technical information I can supply to identify the cause of the crash?

You should get some sort of message in the message tab of BOINC Manager, and also there may be something in stderrdae.txt and stderrgui.txt in your BOINC folder. If so, and you think they may be helpful, post the relevant bits here. Usually, though, they are not very useful in the case you describe, and you will be told that you got a \'-5\' error, for example. The symptoms you describe can be a hardware problem (for example overheating), or they can be a software conflict (eg conflict with a graphics driver or virus software). Difficult to give general advice, though there is a lot available (eg here on hardware), but tell us anything more you can and we will try and give you pointers.

There were no error messages in any of the places/files you mentioned.
If the problem recurrs, I\'ll pay more attention to the content of the error
message. Meanwhile, I\'ll investigate the hardware checks in the reference -
thanks for that.
