Can someone explain this;
03/11/2005 15:26:36|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
03/11/2005 15:26:36|climateprediction.net|Reason: To send trickle-up message
03/11/2005 15:26:36|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results
03/11/2005 15:26:41|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded
One hour later,
03/11/2005 16:29:52|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
03/11/2005 16:29:52|climateprediction.net|Reason: To send trickle-up message
03/11/2005 16:29:52|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results
03/11/2005 16:29:57|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded
It seems quick to me as it normally takes 9.5 Hrs to do a tickel.

The trickles are not showing up yet.

So far your trickles are taking 35000 cpu seconds. So 1 hour does sound very quick. Could the first one just be slow reporting because of the way you make internet access available?

Really need to look at the CPU seconds when they do show up.

Been connected to the net since 14:00:00UTC so no problems there, after the first message one minute later it switched to Seti and when Seti finished two minutes later the second message. I am a member of the excellent group Boinc Synergy as you can see by my sig.

There are a few reasons why that can happen, but they all rely on your computer recalculating the trickle point.

  • A single day model rewind that spanned the trickle point.
  • Another project being scheduled with your general preferences set to remove applications from memory. Your last checkpoint might have been before the trickle point.
  • A periodic benchmark forcing the application to be removed from memory. Same thing with the checkpoint.

I am having the same problem. It started right after boinc tried to run benchmarks. The benchmark was stopped because it could not stop all applications. After that CPDN continually tries to trickle.

Anyone know what to do to set things right again?

It appears likely that you are running BOINC 4.45, which is unsuitable for climateprediction because of the benchmarking problem in particular. Close down BOINC, make a backup of the folder for safety, and upgrade to the latest version. If you still have problems after that post again.

On my box benchmark probleam appeared about two weeks ago (when SP2 for XP was installed). It\'s good news if it was really corrected in the new CC. I plan to install it next week (after the Sulphur model is finished).
