The Aussie Assault on ABC@Home is coming to an end and it has been a fantastic experience for all involved.

l\'Alliance Francophone ran up nearly three million credits and us Aussies are just creeping up to the two million mark now.

At the end of the day, though, it\'s not just the credits - it\'s the enjoyment of competition, team spirit and understanding different nationalities/cultures.
The guys at AF now realise exactly what we try to achieve on these Aussie Assaults and have thanked us for showing them something extra that can be gained from BOINCing.

The head honcho on the project - Hendrik - deserves a special mention for keeping everything together while two teams of looneys went at it hammer and tongs!

Looking forward to Aussie Assault 6..........

*** UPDATE TIME ! ***

Almost two weeks have passed since AA5 on ABC@Home drew to a nail-biting close.
Both teams - BOINC@AUSTRALIA and l\'Alliance Francophone gained a lot from the two weeks.

We have also gained ground in combined ranking - now placed 25th overall in team ranking.

Some of the guys are having a \'mini-assault\' on one of the \'medical\' projects - why not visit our forums and see if you can find out which project?
All of the individual project sub-fora are open to public view.
Link to the forums index - http://xsorbit31.com/users5/boincaustralia/index.php

Next item on the agenda for the team?
Discussions will be opening shortly to decide the target for AA6!

This is plain and simple!

I want 3,000,000 climate project credits worth of new team members. Any climate project!

You don\'t have to have 3,000,000 credit to join us, no! 2,000,000 will do for a start, you can owe us the rest! :D

If you\'ve retired from all climate projects, if you\'re still crunching and would like to join an Australian team and anyone can. I beg of you, join us - please! Don\'t make me beg. Oh crap, I just did.

Help us defeat those on the Dark Side of BOINC, Phoenix Rising, and fight for all that is good and........ Heck, even I don\'t believe that and I\'m writing it :faint:

If you join, I\'ll stop posting! ;-)

Latest news from team Scotland is that we have achieved our target of 10 million credits in BBC, but those who are still crunching BBC models plan to complete them if they can. The team has already delivered 71 complete BBC models.

Meantime we are gradually trickling over to CPDN and gradually rising up the top teams list - currently 43rd in RAC and 84th in total credits. Some team members are also crunching in other BOINC projects:

G\'day crunchers everywhere!

We are now starting Aussie Assault 6 (AA6). After being runner up in the last few polls for the AA, Einstein has been chosen to be the project which will receive our concentrated attention for the next few weeks.

Bruce Allen who is the Forum moderator, Project administrator, Project developer and Project scientist for Einstein has agreed, after much persuasion from members of the Team, and instigated by Mike Mitchell, to crunch Einstein for our Team. He has started this already and his numbers are very impressive.

The Aussie Assaults are a regular team-building exercise we run here at BOINC@AUSTRALIA - the results are always impressive and we have great fun at the same time. In the last Assault (on ABC@Home) another team - l\'Alliance Francophone - learnt how much fun these assaults can be and helped both BOINC@AUSTRALIA and the project itself achieve spectacular results.
(overview of that assault here.)

So - Gentlemen - START YOUR ENGINES !!!

(PSSST - Les - Wanna join us?)

The blurb says
\"We are the biggest, oldest -established in 1999 as Scotland\'s Seti - and, we\'d like to think, best Scottish Boinc team around. [Accept no imitations!] We crunch for all the major Boinc projects and nearly all the minor ones. Our aim is to use our spare computing power to advance human knowledge while enjoying some friendly competition amongst ourselves and with other teams. So if you\'re Scottish by birth, ancestry, residence, emotional attachment or even if you\'ve no link whatsoever with Scotland but just fancy being part of a lively friendly team, please come join us, everyone is welcome.\"

AND
We\'re the only team with a Highland Coo as a mascot.
We\'re top 40 for CPDN and want to improve on that.
We\'ve got an excellent forum.

So. What are you waiting for?

A note from the thread originator...

My apologies for not respawning the thread at 100 messages as previously promised, but my online time has been severely curtailed of late (read: I had a child). I invite everyone to continue discussions on their teams in the new Team Recruiting Thread II.

This thread is now

Thank you.
