I\'m using BOINC 4.45 on Windows XP Professional SP2, AMD Athlon XP 2700+ with 512Mb RAM.

Yesterday my first sulphur cycle model began downloading. Unfortunately I lost my internet connection during download of the sulphur_data_4.19_windows_intelx86.zip file (but after download of the actual workunit file and all the other files). Upon reconnecting to the internet I was relieved to see that the sulphur_data_4.19_windows_intelx86.zip file had resumed downloading where it left off. However after it finished BOINC could not start the workunit. I checked the \\BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net folder and the workunit had \"disappeared\". BOINC attempted to fetch another unit but displayed the messages

Message from server: No work sent
Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 results)

Today I tried again. To my surprise BOINC downloaded the sulphur_data_4.19_windows_intelx86.zip file again, along with a new workunit.

Since then the messages are:

How do I correct this problem and get things working again?

I have noticed that the sub-folder for my sulphur cycle model does not contain a viewpoint.xml file like the sub-folders from my previous non-sulphur cycle models do, if this is significant.

-161 error says client in inconsistent state.

So, a missing file could do that. I would be interested in your log files. Zip them up and send them to p.d.buck@comcast.net

You could try going back to an earlier version of BOINC.
This has worked for a lot of people.
4.19 is very stable, and I\'m using 4.25 without problems.
I\'ve heard that version 5 will be out soon, but it may have it\'s own problems.

OK, done. I hope I\'ve included all the files you need.

Thanks.

Thanks ... I want to get to them today ... of course, I also want to win the lottery today ...

$2.5M after taxes would be plenty ... heck with that, I could even afford to buy another computer, maybe two ... :)

Where can I get an older version of BOINC. I have them stored on a machine at home but hav been on the road th last 6 weeks. I\'m having issues with the sulfer cycle on 4.45 and would lik to try an older version. Stability tests all come back fine.

Update: Sorry about all of the words with a missing \"e\". That finger must be tired tonight.

You can get 4.19 <a href=\"http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php\"> here</a> at Berkeley, and all versions <a href=\"http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/\"> here.</a>

There is a bug in 4.45, unofficially cured <a href=\"http://arnaudboinc.free.fr/\"> here.</a>

This is also reported to have been fixed in the soon to be released 5.1.2, as mentioned <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3253&start=15\"> here.</a>

If you want an older version, I can send you a copy of BOINC 2.10 (11/22/2003) if you like.

Thanks for all of the replies. I already had the patch for 4.45 from earlier discussions. It seems to run fine on other machines, but I\'m not sure if they are running sulpher models since they are still back home.

I\'ll see if backing up to an earlier version cures what ails the machine that\'s with me.
