This afternoon two of my computers that are too slow to finish on time downloaded work from CPDN.

One is a P166, and the other is a P200 dual.

No, they got the application and the data, and started crunching. The complete time for them is sometime in 2006 or 2007. I have kept them both for the moment as part of a test of BOINC, but I am going to abandon them eventually. I am not at all certain that the machines will be running in 3 years.

I beleive the min requirements states, nothing under a 600mhz should me used for CPDN

This is discussed here. Carl decided to allow owners of machines below the minimum spec to try CPDN. Though it conflicts with normal BOINC protocols, I believe it was the right decision. It is important to avoid being too prescriptive about what people do with their own machines unless it actively harms the project.

I was doing this as a test of the system as the system was still in Beta at the time. I know what the minimums are, and I was surprised when the WUs downloaded.

That post of the decision was in response to my surprise at actually downloading work onto those computers.
