I started a new WU a few days ago. It started out just fine, until what looks like sometime yesterday. It says it is running, but no time clicking, and sitting at 6.68%. I got the first 4 trickles just fine. Any clue as to what I can do to get this kick started, or is it a moot point, time to abort and get new?

if you hit ctrl+alt+delete do you see a hadsm3um_4.13 running as well as a hadsm3_4.13? it could be that the model (the hadsm3um) crashed but the monitoring program (hadsm3_4.13) is still running. you may want to exit boinc, see if that stops all the hadsm3*, and then restart boinc.

Does it have anything to do with the benchmark problem in this thread? There is a problem with BOINC 4.4x and hadsm on some computers where it attempts to suspend and remove hadsm from memory before a benchmark, but it cannot determine that it has ended, and cannot run the benchmark. It then does not restart hadsm (the CPDN client app) after the error. That isn't quite the perfect description, but the link has a better explanation.

It seems to have been what Carl suggested. One of the pieces of the software crashed. I have since rebooted, and now it's past 6.7%. I should have tried that first, before asking, but I also wanted the knowledge why this may have happened, and it is good for others to see what might be causing their issue, also.

Thank you for the replies. Seems 4.13 is touchier than previous versions. I ran 4.10-4.12 without any issues. Hope it's not a real problem, causing me to reboot every 2-3 days.

My machine gives me a run-time error when I try to run hadsm 4.13.

I am not overclocked anymore either -- I'm at stock speeds. I deleted my 4.12 project, and downloaded a new one. Now I can't participate in BOINC at all?

Is there a glitch with it, or should I upgrade Boinc beyond the version I have now (4.19)?

I have an AMD64 system, 3500+

Matthew

How did you delete 4.12?

If you did not do it, you should do a project Reset.

I'm not running 4.19, but in the Projects tab of the BOINC GUI, click on climateprediction.net project. Then, either in one of the menus, or by right-clicking on the listed project, you can choose Reset.

I'm also not certain how compatible BOINC 4.19 is with hadsm3 4.13.
