I experienced a similar problem during the alpha trial and found the only thing that got the system out of this state was performing a project reset to force the download to restart.

Perhaps a pre-launch testing?

In the boinc window, on the projects page, right-click on the project and select 'reset project'

But it should come with a health warning. You definitely don't want to use it just to see what it does, because everything for the project (including work units in progress) is discarded and a fresh download is requested from the project's servers.

Thanks Martin and Thyme. I thought I might have to in order to get a new model. When I had a power failure, the current model restarted at 0%, even though I was 6 trickles into it when it crashed. However, the time running wasn't reset to 0, so the sec/ts and time to completion stats for the model are all screwed up. But I think I'll just continue running it since it's working and looking fine.

can you uninstall everything and try the new version (BOINC 4.05), and see if it downloads everything correctly (hadsm3 4.03)?

Hi Carl.

I just saw this thread, and want to add the same error at me here. The Boinc-thingy starts and downloads a few MB. Then it hangs at the hadsm4.03 - file, what you can see under the tab "work". I get nearby the same messages as the threadstarter already posted here. I have no idea whats wrong. As I said, after starting boinc it begins to download, but then it just hangs and nothing more happens. Today I have already reached the daily quota. So I cant test anymore ;(

Hope, theres a solution soon. Im using boinc 4.05.

Regards,
Aries

I tried several things. Resetting the project, detaching and re-attaching the project again. I even de-installed and re-installed the BOINC client itself. But nothing helped. Where is this problem actually located? On the client side or on the server? I mean: is the server sending the correct files to my computer during download or not?

Sorry, I was having some server trouble due to moving the old Oracle database to another server, so those errors were "404's" but it should be OK now! Hopefully future BOINC's will retry failed URL's as they do scheduler requests.

please help i really want to do somthing with science but since this is happenning, seti is down again, pirates dosent give anything, lhc filled its beta quota before i found out it existed and predictor is still on boinc 3.22. i guess ill support the oh so hated math and run gimps for a bit. this is my home page though so the second you give me info on how to fix this i will try to restart.

~ BOINC its not about the credit or the satisfaction its about the screensavers!!! :)~
