Hi, I\'ve had the BOINC cp.net client on my computer for 6 months, and the computing units always return \'client error\' on the \'Results for user\' page. 2/3rds list the client state as \'computing\', and the rest \'Done\'. I have CPU time and credit for half of my units, seemingly irrespective of the client state listed.

Does this just mean my computer\'s been pulled because it\'s taking too much time to do the units? If that\'s the case will the processed data from my computer be actually used? Or is it a real problem with corrupted software or the like, with the last six month a waste of time?

Thanks for any help, if there\'s a more appropriate place to post this could you point me in that direction.

James

Almost all your error/exit codes have been -1073741502, which have been incredibly difficult to track down the cause. Short runs that error out before the 3rd phase are not all that useful to the project. If you've had more luck with other BOINC projects, I would stick to those. If you want to continue to cruch for CPDN, there is still the classic CPDN (non-BOINC-related) that you can download from here.

You could try the hardware tests here, and these here.

Hi James

Boinc cpdn seems to be the most demanding project to crunch successfully because of its complexity. Athlons like yours & mine seem less likely to be successful than Pentiums. The classic version that Geophi mentioned is, however, almost always stable and successful; your machine is not too slow to run it. The completed models are just as useful to the researchers.
