A few of the times that the model has crashed, they have crashed when I tried to watch the model graphics at the time the phase is changing and the virus scan goes off. The model locks up and then a few minutes later I get model failed.

There is a LOT of disk activity at phase change, and it's best not interrupt the cpu at this point.

It could be your AV, as in Carl's comments <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2841&amp;start=15"> here,</a> or your choice of AV as in <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2895&amp;start=0"> this</a> thread, or your graphics card if you have an ATI card as in <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2992&amp;start=0"> this</a> thread.

Rumor has it that BOINC 4.44 may fix some of these in some cases.

Les
