I've a 1.2GHz Athlon, with 256Mb of memory, running XP.
My first attempt to run phase 1 crashed after about 5 years, around 1815. My second attempt went to 1825, but instead of going on to phase 2, it started another phase 1. My third attempt has just done the same thing.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong please?

Those 1073741819 errors are a nuisance. They were happening in the sulphur cycle alpha test at phase changes. Hopefully a fix has solved this problem, but I don't know whether the fix can be applied to the current experiment. Sorry this isn't very helpful, but maybe there is some hope for a fix. Until then you may want to backup your BOINC folder just before the phase change. It is possible that it may be intermittent and you may be able to get past the problem.
