Hello. Joined a few days ago and my office PC is hopefully crunching numbers in it's spare time.

I am confused and not sure if everything is working as expected.

How can I tell ?

I see that in my profile "credits" are going up ... is this enough ?

Thank you,
Bob

You should be able to view the graphics. If you are running BOINC version 4.19 (or earlier) you can go to the work tab and right click on the CPDN line to select the graphics. On later versions the graphics option appears in a box to the left when you click on the workunit. Unfortunately, though, there are some bugs with the graphics in later versions, so you may not be able to see the graphics at the moment. See here for more information on them.

EDIT - sorry I have just realised that you are using Linux. In that case, forget what I say about the GUI in 4.19 and below - of course there isn't one. I have not tried the latest dev version of the Linux client, but you can use the advanced visualisation I mention below.

Don't try and view the graphics all the time or use them as a screensaver, as they take too much processing power.

There is also the advanced visualisation (see the menu on the left). That is more interesting when you have completed a model or two but it is the only option just now if BOINC graphics are not working for you.

Take care,
