Hey all.... Here's the long story short... I just got a new computer, but I would like to have my current machine finish its current WU. Is there a graceful way to let the machine finish its work, upload the results, but NOT download another WU?? I really would like to finish what I started on this machine, then detach it from the project nicely. Then of course I will be starting another WU on the new computer.... :-)

Thanks for the help!!

The best way I know to do this is to go into General Preferences and set "leave at least xx GB hard drive space free" to xx=to some number larger than the size of your hard drive.

The CPDN server isn't mad when you move a model from one machine to the next and continue it there.

So maybe the easiest solution would be to just install the same BOINC version and then copy all relevant files to the new box.

If you use the same drive / folder name on the new machine, you could even just copy all files to the new one.

Don't forget to shut down BOINC on the old one before you copy the files - and keep the stuff there as a backup until at least one trickle shows up from the new machine.

Latest DEV version of BOINC (4.37) has option, by project, to set "No New Work". Otherwise you can also create a different profile (venue) and set it to 0 days between connects. Assign old machine to that profile and it'll get no further work.

So if I set it to "0 Days between connects" it will still upload the work when completed?? Also, any problems with just updating to the dev BOINC?? That might be easier yet....

Thanks for the help!!
